Position: Applications Engineer
Location: Burbank, CA
Modis Burbank is looking for an Applications Engineer for a great client in Burbank. This position will involve presale support activities, identification of customer product needs, conducting of feasibility and performance studies. This position requires the candidate to have excellent Customer Service skills, quoting / estimating abilities, and be capable of forging strong interdepartmental relationships.
Typical Roles Areas of Focus:
Review of RFQ s, Specifications, Contracts, and special Customer requirements.
Coordination with internal departments, outside contractors, and approval agencies.
Preparation and submittal of bid documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization.
Provide complete technical and commercial support to Regional Sales Managers, FCD representatives, FCD distributors and direct customers.
Provide Application Engineering Expertise in Special Applications (i.e. conceptual design of special configurations, evaluation of existing designs, basic modification of existing designs, etc.).
Represent FCD in customer meetings, and coordinate commercial and technical negotiations.
Provide Project Management Support when required. Examples include significant projects, projects requiring special testing and inspections, or projects requiring special handling and documentation.
Utilize regular opportunities to continue education of self, as well as, coworkers (i.e. seminars, college or university courses, internal cross training, author technical papers, mentoring, etc.).
Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
Makes significant contribution to their team by applying their knowledge of the discipline
Works with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus
Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role continuing to develop specialized knowledge
2+ years of technical support experience
Experience in water treatment, oil/gas, and/or petrochemical industries is a must.
Applicant must have good troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.
International technical sales support experience is preferred
Must have bilingual (read, write & speak) Spanish skills.
