Purpose of Position:

The Associate Consultant role has primary responsibility for attaining a deep level of knowledge in an assigned area of focus so that they can begin to perform COINS product and business consulting as an individual contributor or as part of a team. As part of the learning curve, typical activities will include supporting and resolving customer inquiries, quality assurance testing, producing 'How To' documentation and shadowing more experienced consultants during their assignments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities: 

  1. Attain a deep knowledge of COINS customer businesses in an assigned area of focus along with the COINS products and solutions that support them.
  2. Assist project team and customer representatives through product implementations and other assignments by providing solutions that successfully meet identified business requirements.
  3. When required, travel to customer locations to perform and support on-site consulting activities as laid out in the agreed visit scope of work. Present content effectively, efficiently and professionally, diligently completing any post-assignment follow-up work.
  4. Provide clear and concise written customer communication of all types including but not limited to product presentations, 'How To' Documents along with general e-mail/instant messaging.
  5. Ensure assigned tasks and activities are completed within agreed timescales and adhere to working practices. Escalate project issues and risks in a timely manner.
  6. Routinely participate in the COINS SDLC by assisting the QA Team with evaluating software changes against agreed test plans.
  7. Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and co-workers across all teams, departments and regions within the Coins Global Company.
  8. Perform any other duties required by the Consultant Team Leader.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Information Technology from four-year college or university. Experience working in any of the following will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis:

  • Software Consulting
  • IT Professional Services
  • Construction Finance/Accounting
  • Construction Operations

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to present and explain business and product information to customers and colleagues.  Understanding of business-appropriate language both verbally and written; speak in an appropriate way about company, colleagues, practices, etc.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Associate Consultants may be required to travel to customer locations to work. Depending on the assignment, trips can last between 1-5 days, including travel time. As their business and product knowledge increases, it is not uncommon for an Associate Consultant to spend approximately 20% of their time traveling and/or working at customer sites.
