The Electronics and Sensors Division (ESD) is a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and remote sensing systems. The Digital and Integrated Circuit Electronics Department (DICED) resides within ESD and supports the design, modeling, simulation, verification, analysis, and test for microelectronics and digital electronic boards, boxes, subsystems, and systems for civil, commercial, and national space systems. Our expertise, combined with sophisticated in-house laboratories, rapid prototyping, and extensive modeling and simulation capabilities, enables DICED to deliver innovative solutions to national space systems and civil customers.

What You'll Be Doing [5-7 bullets recommended]
  • Provide leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, and management of technical staff and operations
  • Assign resources, determine staffing needs, coordinate activities, and communicate with requisite stakeholders
  • Provide in-depth digital and microelectronic support to SMC, NRO, and Civil Space Programs
  • Leads teams in the independent assessment of microelectronic and digital electronic boards, boxes, subsystems, and systems for space systems, including space, ground, and test infrastructure
  • Leverage our extensive modeling and simulation capabilities to design and evaluate both ASIC and FPGA designs
  • Define, assess, and support architectural evaluations and implementations of space systems
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering or another related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in acquisition, design, analysis, test, and verification of digital and microelectronic hardware, including ASIC and/or FPGA design
  • Demonstrated ability to provide departmental strategic and budget planning, workforce planning, recruiting, and staffing, succession planning, personnel development, and customer relationships
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain reciprocal and collaborative working relationships with diverse associates and customers
  • Proven ability to foster a harmonious environment of teamwork and develop/grow an organization by providing consistent mentoring, coaching, and training opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams to achieve high performance
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all organizational levels
  • Willing to travel domestically up to 25%
  • Current and active Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access (Secret/SCI) government clearance
How You Can Stand Out

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering or another related discipline
  • Current and active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access TS/SCI government clearance
  • Expert knowledge in acquisition, design, analysis, test, and verification of digital and microelectronic hardware, including ASIC and/or FPGA design
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, C/C++ and MATLAB within Unix/Linux programming environments
  • Expert knowledge of high-speed digital design best practices, including signal integrity
