Biometric Sensor Firmware Engineer

Seeking a firmware engineer well versed in C/C++, debugging, and microcontrollers to join an engaging biometric sensor engineering team in midtown Raleigh, NC! In this direct hire opportunity, you will be a vital member of the product development and R&D teams, developing innovative solutions that power wearable sensors for sports, fitness, and health applications. At this point in the hiring process, salary range is open to accommodate qualified candidates. Local candidates are strongly preferred; no relocation assistance, sponsorship, or C2C arrangements are available.

Responsibilities of the Biometric Sensor Firmware Engineer:

  • Development of drivers for a variety of embedded devices and MCUs
  • Optimizing code for speed and power management
  • Testing your code within a continuous integration framework
  • Working within a development team of product managers, scientists, engineers, and DSP experts to integrate proprietary technology into packaged commercial products and to support rapid prototyping of next-gen products and applications

Requirements of the Biometric Sensor Firmware Engineer:

  • S. or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience and experience preparing code for commercial delivery
  • Fluency in C and/or C++
  • Fluency in Python scripting
  • Fluency in EE basics & familiarity with electronics & systems integration
  • Experience and comfort with hardware test tools: scopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Experience programming for DSP and microcontroller platforms, such as ARM
  • Experience debugging code & optimizing code for speed, power savings, and memory space

Desired skills of the Biometric Sensor Firmware Engineer:

  • Experience with in-circuit emulators and debuggers (JTAG / SWD)
  • Experience with sensor systems
  • Experience with MATLAB
  • Experience in digital signal processing
  • Experience developing within a multithreaded RTOS
  • Experience delivering code for consumer electronic product launches
  • Experience with Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy stacks
