CSRA seeks a Web Application Designer / Business Analyst to support the Department of State’s Worldwide Refugee Admissions Processing System (WRAPS). The Design team consists of four designer / analysts responsible for transforming high-level requirements specifications into wireframes of application screens, process workflows, storyboards, and detailed field definitions and validations. Designers interview users, analyze business processes, and apply user-centered design (UCD) to create highly usable web applications that streamline refugee processing case work. The Designers work in close collaboration with their colleagues in Requirements, Development, and Test to deliver new and enhanced functionality in WRAPS, a web-based case management application built in Java and Google Web Toolkit. In this role of Designer / Analyst, you will need to be detail-oriented, and produce design documents that account for all the business and technical requirements without leaving gaps in logic. Specifications include wireframes, data models, business process flows, business rules, and data validations. Designers often put together presentations summarizing the Specification and walking thru the planned release with end users, stakeholders, and the software development team. Designers also keep Specifications current with changes to requirements and approach that come up over the course of the implementation and testing phase.Seeking a Business Analyst/Web Designer to join our team in Arlington, VA. Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret Clearance or higher. The ideal candidate will have experience designing interfaces that help the user work more efficiently and an understanding of the design elements that facilitate an effective human/machine working relationship. Communicate technical details to the business, business details to the technical staff, and understand the user experience thoroughly enough to advocate for the users when design decisions need to be made.

Responsibilities:





  • Produce accurate and concise detailed design documents for use by software developers and testers, including:
  • Narrative and graphical overview and scenarios that demonstrate the capabilities and usage of the software
  • User interface wireframe mockups
  • Detailed descriptions of business logic and validation
  • Business process flows, application workflow, and storyboards
  • Relational data models, schema details, and configuration data
  • Mapping between data stores and user interface
  • Analyze and document non-functional requirements such as configuration, flexibility, maintainability and performance
  • Support and communicate with developers and testers during implementation and testing of software designs
  • Schedule, plan, and lead team and client meetings, deliver presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholder groups, facilitate discussions, and build consensus
  • Be proactive in discovering and resolving technical and functional issues
  • Work within a team that encourages creative, innovative thinking
  • Take ownership of tasks, and perform with minimal supervision

Qualifications:





  • Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience analyzing formal software and system requirements artifacts
  • Broad experience in designing complex, multi-tier, web-based, database-driven software applications with emphasis on delivering functionality with the best user experience
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio)
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts and practices
  • Experience producing process flow diagrams, activity diagrams, and wireframe interface mockups
  • Experience leading meetings, presenting in front of groups, communicating concepts to both operational and technical participants, and producing meeting minutes
  • Excellent writing skills and command of the English language are critical
  • Bachelors degree (doesn’t have to be in Computer Science)

Desired Qualifications :
  • Working knowledge of Java object-oriented development (or .NET C#)
  • Working knowledge of Single Page Architectures (SPA) (e.g., Google Web Toolkit, Angular, Backbone, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server 2008, Transact-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with Sketcher user interface modeling or other mockup tools
  • Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science related field
  • Certifications in User-Centered Design
  • Experience as part of an Agile Team with demonstrated understanding of the Agile mindset
  • Experience using Jira
