Job Description

Business Analyst

hCentive is seeking a Business Analyst to join its Private Health Insurance Exchange team. The team focuses on developing insurance marketplace solutions for large and small groups as well as individuals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation of Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Conduct client interviews
  • Perform software product demos
  • Conduct market research
  • Define business processes
  • Assist clients in the adoption of software and train clients 
  • Lead issues resolution
  • Solid ability to convey product features through articulate requirements to multiple stakeholders (including business clients and engineering teams).
  • Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and delivery of products
  • Act with limited oversight

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

Applicants should have prior, relevant full-time work experience as a software business analyst, ideally having worked for a software firm, an insurance carrier or an insurance brokerage. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sound analytic, problem solving, and quantitative skills
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry landscape, from the perspective of selling a variety of insurance (health and / or ancillary) products  
  • Proven team player; strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to drive research towards practical and commercial solutions.
