Title: Business Analyst
The duties for the position will include but not be limited to the following:
Performs a variety of professional level customer support activities which may vary with the specialty area to which assigned, but which all relate to the support of the relevant business systems. Plans, organizes, coordinates, oversees, directs, reviews and evaluates the work of public service and office support staff. Maintains current knowledge of laws, codes and recording requirements. Trains staff in work procedures, examines various legal documents for sufficiency, completeness and adherence to laws, codes and recording requirements. Identifies and documents departmental business requirements for business application and information technology projects; documents business and functional requirements and functional specifications; documents and translates work processes into business and functional requirements; identifies and documents business operating policies and procedures and provides input into the budget and goal setting processes of the Recorder's Office. Coordinates with Recorder IT systems support personnel to resolve issues; develops, maintains, and distributes user documentation and trains staff in system use. Contributes to the overall quality of the department's service provision by developing/coordinating work teams. Performs difficult, complex and technical recordation work; provides advice and technical assistance to staff; reviews work to ensure quality control and correspondence with legal requirements. May confer and interact with all levels of customers, senior management, elected officials, contracted staff, and vendors, in the documentation of issues or developing functional specifications, forms. Performs system acceptance testing; executes test scripts and analyzes results to ensure system integrity; performs quality assurance of business system user documentation.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches operational problems, legislative actions and other matters affecting the department's recordation related activities as well as evaluates alternatives, recommends solutions, and suggests changes. Identifies and addresses operational problems and ensures the overall efficiency and effectiveness of system and system related changes and/or upgrades.
