Business Analyst

Location: Downtown St. Louis, MO

Initial term: 12 months

 

The Business Analyst will work as an IT Business Analyst within the IT R&D team. Effort will include business and infrastructure projects, enhancements and support across multiple applications within the team.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluation of both process and system changes across multiple applications driven by requests from multiple business departments. 

  • Perform business process analysis
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders and collaborate on the development changes
  • Collect business justification and facilitate prioritization of requests across multiple applications
  • Provide direction and guidance to Managed Services team members
  • Project planning, administration, and control to meet business cost, time, and quality objectives
  • Coordinate & execute functional acceptance testing
  • Insure timely and accurate completion of deliverables

 

Support for assigned applications

  • Prioritize issues, provide research and root cause analysis
  • Document issues and follow-up to ensure both resolution and if necessary end user communication
  • Conduct change impact reviews and train end users as needed
  • Assist with development and delivery of measures to track team performance

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate all issues, risks, concerns and status to management, business partners and other departments in a timely manner
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across departments
  • Provide status of compliance to standards, methods, processes, and tools by assigned due dates

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of overall IT experience with significant experience in software development life cycle
  • 5+ years as IT business analyst with experience in eliciting, documenting and managing requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Lean methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience in test planning, test case development and execution

 

Skills:

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite along with MS Project, MS Visio and MS SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of database management tools including Oracle & SQL
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and tasks under time constraints
  • Ability to effectively influence, convince and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing, business/technology concepts across all levels of organization
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Effective Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical / analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and facilitation skills
  • Ability to coordinate work of other team members in addition to completing individual assignments
