Dynamics of the Role

The Manager of Decisioning plays a crucial role for operations within the US region.  The Manager is responsible for managing a dedicated team of co-located project managers that also serve as business analysts and configuration specialists to deliver automated decisioning solutions to our customers.  A deep background in project management, requirements elicitation, building and fostering customer and internal relationships and a commitment to process and quality are instrumental to success.  This role leverages flexibility with a strong desire to contribute and excel to support, grow and differentiate our business in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Team’s Focus

Global Decisioning leverages industry data and analytics, coupled with our technology assets, to deliver decisioning strategies and solutions that help our customers achieve more.  We are in the midst of consolidating our decisioning platforms to a single offering to best position our team and product for continued success with expanded opportunities for cross-organizational roles.  Decisioning is a key growth area for TransUnion.  Leading the team through the platform consolidation while maintaining existing customer requests and building new solutions will be a challenge and exciting opportunity for the right Manager.

How You’ll Contribute: 

  • Project leadership for all assigned Decisioning projects by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project management team.
  • Hands-on Manager of a team of project managers located in Chicago and Atlanta; coach, assist with development planning, write and execute performance reviews as well as performance improvement plans.  
  • Ensure the team is proficient in executing solution delivery including identification and implementation of process and automation changes to improve quality and turn-times.
  • Drive collaboration to identify creative solutions to meet customer needs and address problem resolution. 
  • Continue a strong relationship with the Business Development, Product, Sales, Application Development and Support teams to best serve the needs of the team and our customers
  • Travel, as needed, in support of the team and customers

What You’ll Bring: 

  • 10+ years of applicable business experience in IT industry (credit or financial background preferred)
  • 6+ years project management,  business analysis and customer relationship experience
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects delivering business outcomes on-time & on-budget.  Key skills include:  project planning, risk management, outcome focused execution etc.
  • Ability to define and articulate team and individual goals, develop staff and identify and implement solutions to address staffing and/or workload challenges
  • Agile style.  Ability to determine when and how to modify and re-set plans based on newly gained information; ability to iterate through options and set a revised course
  • Strong organizational, decision making, time management and communication skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility in dealing with change and adversity; ability to manage self and team through ambiguity
  • Proven ability to leverage technology and experts to generate innovation, identify problems and define effective solutions
