Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Consultant
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 6-9 months contract then potential conversion or extension

Job Summary
This position will collaborate with Datacenter, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning lead to implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions and BAU operations within the Infrastructure, Operations and Communications (IOC) Team. Reporting directly to the Datacenter and BCP lead in Operations, the Analyst will bring in-depth knowledge of DC incident handling, disaster recovery and business continuity process and procedures. The Analyst will assess Iberdrola's best practices today in place for infrastructure processes and provide suggestions to meet similar needs, while meeting compliance requirements.
Collaborate with incident and process office, creating documents following best practices, championing procedural participation, and improving preparedness for business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis events in all areas of business. Analyze Disaster Recovery and BCP processes for improvement in effectiveness and efficiency purposes, communicating on a thorough and consistent basis throughout the IT organization. Collaboration with additional teams such as Asset Management, Change Management, Service & Problem Management, and Incident and Process Office where needed.
This role will bring IT knowledge and expertise, process skills and business acumen to execute and improve upon the existing datacenter, disaster recovery and business continuity program functions.
The successful candidate will possess problem solving and decision-making skills together with excellent process management and operations support management skills.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance, ensure a sound operating model is managed and executed for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Processes.
  • Interact with global peers to identify and achieve IT Operations goals.
  • Collaborate with local/global peers in IT to ensure that a unified Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity process is followed.
  • Routinely reviews and revises Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC-DR) processes in accordance with any updates performed by Iberdrola.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage business continuity and disaster recovery yearly or as required activities to ensure plans are effective, maintained and tested.
  • Develop and administer awareness and training programs in support of the Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assure integration and compatibility of common response, priorities, and planning efforts.
  • Develop a data driven methodology for continual monitoring and reporting of key resilience controls.
  • Interacts with IT Governance and auditors to ensure proper reporting and metrics are obtained.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in computer science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in English - verbal and written.
  • Work US based business hours.
  • Familiarity with IBERDROLA S.A. processes a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years directly supporting organizational BCP/DR and Crisis Management.
  • 3+ years of broad-based experience in technology.
  • 2+ years of Datacenter process and procedure experience.
  • 2+ years of business process improvement experience.
  • 1+ year of cloud management preferred.
  • Proficiency in working in a complex, dynamic, multicultural, and international business environment.
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification (Foundation-level v2 or v3) preferred.
  • Understanding of infrastructure technologies - server, database, network, storage, security, and management technologies.
  • Experience with Service Now, DCIM, CMDB a plus.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities and meet target deadline.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and partners.
  • Ability to share knowledge and mentor and manage less experienced team members.
  • Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.
  • Able to analyze complex problems and partner with others to determine the appropriate solution.
