The purpose of the Business Intelligence Developer -

This position is to develop business intelligence (BI) strategies and create corporate and departmental BI products. This position works directly with business related departments to gather business requirements and insights into data.
A data engineer would use an agile approach to BI development. Responsibilities would include documentation of business product requirements and translation of business requirements to data models.
This Business Intelligence Developer position is structured under the data services portion of the Cloud Data and Analytics team. A Data Engineer would communicate business needs and data requirements to a Data Architect and provide guidance in curating this data. Requirements include data modeling, big data analytics, using Power Query or DAX to convert business logic and analytics to measures, and visualize data to provide insights into the business.
Roles and responsibilities would include:
Develop Corporate/ Executive dashboards and reports
Create departmental dashboards and reports
Provide input in clear path forward for corporate and departmental BI projects
Coordinate development of Business Intelligence products with cloud data team and departments
Communicate with department heads to determine business intelligence projects and reporting
Define BI Practices and Patterns
Define and document BI product requirements (user stories, goals, KPIs, metrics)
Document data models
Work with Cloud Data team to ensure proper vetting and updating of dashboards
Trouble shoot any BI related issues
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business.
2 years experience in Power BI Desktop
2 years experience in Power BI Service
2 years experience in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
2 years experience in Power Query/ M-Code
5 years experience in data modeling
Experience in Power BI, Tableau, or other BI software
Experience in coding languages primarily Python, R, SQL
Familiarity with USQL and Azure Data Factory
Configurations of corporate gateways
Experience in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
Excel skills including VBA, Power Query, Pivot Charts, Pivot Tables
Experience with Agile development processes
Experience with BEAM or other Agile/BI reporting processes
Technical communication skills and presenting skills
Technical writing skills
