Job Description

.NET Architect / Solution Analyst
The IT Solution Analyst will work with internal IT groups, external vendors, client's functional owners, and contractors providing technical leadership in defining, recommending and/or designing efficient and cost-effective solutions, applications and systems platforms software. The Solution Analyst will identify and document concise functional and technical specifications based on analysis/assessment of business requirements, as provided by the Customer Interface Team and Functional Owner. The Solution Analyst will generate and develop system scope and size, objectively, analyze and evaluate the existing or proposed systems so they can devise new or modify existing solutions to achieve requirements. The Solution Analyst is expected to lead the development team in solving new and unexpected problems that arise during the implementation phase of a project. The Solution Analyst must be knowledgeable of the product functionality including an advanced understanding of the functional and technical aspects of the application.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of a range of IT and application development work procedures, practices and methodologies.
  • Analyze the cost effectiveness of purchasing off the shelf solution vs. developing a new application and recommend the appropriate solution.
  • Evaluate detailed business requirements and prepare detailed specifications that follow project guidelines to develop written programs.
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives.
  • If alternatives to new development are not possible then the Solution Analyst will provide analysis and design documentation for the development of a solution to customer requirements.
  • Ensure that the scope and intent of the designed architectures follow current coding and quality standards and guidelines; also ensuring the design architecture is clearly reflected and validated in the supporting documentation for the Developers, internal and external.
  • May assist in writing on-line help manuals, user manuals, operations documentation and FAQs for specific software projects.
  • Participate in the client acceptance testing to identify required changes and communicate changes to development.
  • Provide post-launch functional and technical support until the implementation is stabilized and fully transitioned to client
  • Maintain awareness of application solution and development industry trends
  • Provide technical solution support in support of Severity 1 and 2 events as required by the Steady State support resources.
Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, preferred
  • Minimum 6-10 years of technical analysis and application development/support experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to ensure adherence to concepts and theories for various projects.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of server technologies to facilitate troubleshooting of server deployed applications.
  • Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it relates to projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills that included a demonstrated ability to work with geographically dispersed internal and external teams and customers.
  • Logical thinker with sound problem solving abilities and attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, organize and lead meetings and/or activities.
  • Able to analyze, communicate, facilitate, prioritize, escalate, and resolve issues
  • Able to understand general business concepts and apply them when communicating with diverse groups of people when completing work assignments.
  • Possess and demonstrate strong teamwork skills and work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate with localized and remote team members.
  • Highly organized with successful multi-tasking skills
  • Understanding of application development and project management methodologies
