Space Systems Engineering Risk, Issues and Opportunities Lead



Work you'll do



We have an exciting new opportunity for a mid-level engineer supporting space systems engineering work a large Department of Defense client. You will manage the development, test, fielding, launch, and sustainment of a wide variety of satellite and ground communications systems and networks, including the Advanced Extremely High Frequency, Wideband Global Satellite Communications, and Enhanced Polar System satellites. You will:

* Plan, design, and implement an overall risk management process.

* Analyze, identify, describe, and estimate impacts of risks.

* Establish and quantify acceptable risk levels for implementation on a project-by-project basis.

* Provide executive-level reporting on risk identification and mitigation.

* Develop and implement governance for internal and external risk reporting.

* Providing support, education, and training to build risk awareness.

The team

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.



Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.



Qualifications

* At least five (5) years' experience in organizing, compiling and assessing the program or project risks of appropriately sized (similar to at least Acquisition Category III level) space or ground system software or hardware programs.

* At least three (3) years' experience leading the overall risk role of relevant System Engineering and Integration efforts for DoD, other Government Agency or commercial programs or projects of similar scope and complexity as the proposed effort.

* Bachelor's degree

* Active Security Clearance



Preferred Qualifications:

* 12+ years of space systems engineering experience

* Bachelor's degree in engineering

* General knowledge of military satellite communications systems.
