Job Description

DA Davidson is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to supervise a variety of projects throughout the Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS) – modules and core functions include Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time and Absence Management, Recruiting, and Human Resource Information Management.  This IT position, will work with IT staff and multiple business groups to help maintain user security roles, workflows, data transmissions, integrations, manage projects, and oversee incidents and escalations with vendors and business partners.  Successful candidate must have 3 to 5 years supporting Enterprise Software Platforms and prior experience with Workday is preferred.  The ideal candidate must thrive in fast-paced environments and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication abilities, written and verbal, and strong presentation skills are necessary.  Candidates without prior Workday HRIS experience must have proven experience supporting other industry leading technology software platforms.



  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 or more years’ experience in HRIS / IT
  • Previous experience working with IT projects and Application System Management; previous experience with Workday is preferred
  • 3-5 years with data integrations and participation with end-to-end testing is strongly preferred
  • Good analytical skills including problem solving, attention to detail and clear communication of results and project tracking
  • Ability to manage simultaneously tasks and projects, and willingness to adjust priorities based on business needs   
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing environment with minimal supervision
  • Can execute the delivery of HRIS/IT strategies and goals that align with company objectives
  • Understanding of the SDLC process, examples include User Acceptance Testing, Release Management, Change Management Controls, Requirements Gathering, and Segmentation of Duties
  • Able to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively across departments and functional areas
  • Strong communication skills including proactive and appropriate posting to key stakeholders and  escalation of issues; professional written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work constructively with Business Partners and Vendors to facilitate projects 


  • Manage implementation phase of projects
  • Support and maintain data conversion strategy, process, and methodology
  • Participate in test phase planning and execution in partnership with functional areas and PMO
  • Participate in initiatives that integrate Workday with other systems and help define technical requirements with the HR users and vendors
  • Develop new, or modify existing, advanced reports, dashboards and analytics
  • Develop new, or modifying existing, integrations from Workday to internal and external clients using Workday technologies including calculated fields, custom reports, EIBs
  • Document Transformation, Workday Studio, Web Services, etc.
  • Evaluate, communicate and coordinate the technical impacts of Workday configuration decisions
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to management
  • Analyze and classify change requests, identifying and documenting scope of change and impact on other integrations or processes
  • Develop technical supporting documentation including design documents, run guides, and system test plans
  • Function as tier 2 / tier 3 support for advance problems and issues
  • Track issues and seek long-term resolutions to reduce incidents
  • Crosstrain existing IT Staff to provide extended support
