Position:Business Systems Analyst (Mainframe Legacy Systems)
Duration:12+ Months (On-Going Contract)
Location:Torrance, CA 90501 (on-site only)
Rate:Open, depends on exp level (W2 Only)
Calance is a 1st tier vendor with 35 consultants working on-site for this global client. Although this is a contract role, the average consultant has been on project between 5-9 years. All work will be performed on-site and you MUST be available for a face to face interviews (Local Candidates only).
BSA will support their Parts Operations (PO, Ordering, Marketing) Systems, creating/documenting, performing systems analysis and supporting user request (business processes), creating presentations, and defining processes. This BSA is working with mainframe legacy systems, using COBOL and running with a IMS/DB2 db and this BSA need to have experience working with these kind of old mainframe systems to be considered for this role.
Gathers, refines and validates complex business requirements, interdependencies, potential risks and issues.
Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Assists in the business process design or redesign and documentation as needed.
Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications.
Facilitates communication and gains commitment between business units to align solutions with business strategies.
Develops complex business cases.
Coordinates test activities, creates test cases, coordinates systems testing, and user acceptance testing
Works on multiple projects as a project team member, at times as a project leader
Assists with facilitating project governance and corporate priorities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: (Resume must reflect this experience)
5+ years of exp as a Business System Analyst, creating complex use cases/diagrams, scenarios, business rules, reports design, and user interface visualization
Experience working with Mainframe legacy systems, running COBOL, CICS and IMS/DB2
Strong documentation skills, excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
Strong business analysis skills, including business process, task, workflow descriptions, and creating business process models
Strong documentation skills - this individual needs to have strong attention to detail
Experience creating functional requirements gathering, documentation, design/redesign, and management using various techniques
Familiarity with compliance and/or regulatory standards (coming from a regulated environment is helpful)
Education: Bachelors Degree is required
Must have a stable work history, supporting large IT projects
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience using MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Other Must Have's:
Ideally have experience in the part operation (PO, Ordering, Marketing) systems is highly desired
Must be able to work as a W2 hourly consultant (H1 Transfer's available)
Must reside LOCALLY (S. California) area
MUST be available for a face to face interview
