Job Description



The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for providing analysis and second-tier support for the business areas assigned to them. The position involves, but is not limited to, the analysis, design and estimation of medium to large-scale projects, product support and coordination with team members on project development. This position involves moderate coordination with other departments, business partners and outside vendors in order to provide customer support. The position must also accurately elicit requirements and request from the business and/or vendor. Successfully implement projects and upgrades that will transition to production support. Accurately and thoroughly document test results when testing is required. Using analytical and problem-solving skills, research system functionality and operations to develop solutions, engaging both internal and external IT resources when applicable; communicate solutions in a clear and concise manner. Additionally this position must maintain compliance with all SOX, security and operational standards.



JOB DUTIES



  • Gather customer requirements to provide innovative solutions and recommend system, product and process enhancements

  • Provide applications second-tier support for systems issue resolution

  • Implement business software and provide systems administration set-up and configuration

  • Provide documentation of business rules, functional specifications, and process interpretation for assigned applications, systems,

  • Monitor scheduled application interface and provide issue resolution and After-hours support

  • Provide assistance in the creation of production, ad-hoc reporting, and interface solutions to query needs of the business

  • Communicate with management, business partners, software vendors, and suppliers on business systems, project status, and project

  • Coordinate with program development teams on software interfaces used by supported business applications

  • Assist Quality Assurance and business partners during the testing phases of projects as needed

  • Testing for Workflow Messages

  • Adding job duties to current job description for test

  • Maintain compliance with all SOX, security and operational standards

  • Accurately and thoroughly document test results when testing is required

  • Using analytical and problem-solving skills, research system functionality and operations to develop solutions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Conform with all company policies and procedures



Knowledge



  • Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups

  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions

  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions

  • Working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups

  • Working knowledge of the Corporate Business solution environment

  • General knowledge of financial/banking transactions a plus

  • Knowledge of calculating interest and payments on loans a plus


Skills



  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes

  • Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels

  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives

  • Deadline oriented

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to write basic SQL queries for ad-hoc reporting and research

  • Ability to research issues in a timely manner, identify and suggest solutions

Education



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred


Experience



  • 2-4 years of support, analysis and implementation experience in an IT environment or related business area preferred


Working Conditions



  • Normal office environment subject to stressful situations

  • Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers

  • Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours including weekends/holidays, occasional overtime or split shifts may be required

  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs
