C++ Software Engineer

Job Description

Solidus is searching for a C++ Software Engineer to join a team that develops sensors, automated hazard detection and forecasting systems, and decision support tools to reduce the impact of adverse weather on national aviation operations.

The Software Engineer will work on an ongoing upgrade project for the Airport Surveillance Radar-9 (ASR-9) Weather Systems Processor (WSP).

Required Skills:
- ship and able to obtain DoD Security Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree

Must have a minimum 15 years of experience in the following:
- C/C++ Programming
- Software Design/Development

Minimum 10 years of experience in the following:
- Development experience on a Linux platform
- Real-Time Hardware/ Software Development and Implementation
- Software Integration
- Weather Radar Systems
- Software Testing

Minimum 5 years of experience in the following:
- Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP, HTTP/S
- Software Documentation
- GIT/GITHUB
- Software Maintenance
- Software Porting
- Software release management
- Experience with Jira

Preferred Skills:
- Major in Computer Science
- Major in Mathematics
- Experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration desired
