Job Description

Job Title – Systems Architect

 

Job Location – Santa Clara CA

 

Length – Permanent (Relocation Assistance offered)

 

Responsibilities: 

 

· Translate the customer needs into a system level solution requirements and into detailed sub-system requirements 

· Possess a thorough knowledge of system level modeling, mixed-signal circuit design and packaging. 

· Defining manufacturable solutions, both in terms of product reliability and testability (DFT). 

· Mentor the characterization, product- and test-engineering teams to ensure a quick and timely product bring up once silicon comes back from fab. 

· Clearly and consistently communicate and document to customers and internal organization the status and results of the designs throughout the different phases of the design cycle. 

· Will be dealing with customers directly, communicating decisions, and negotiating trade-offs.

· Will work with complicated mixed-signal solutions with significant analog content

 

Requirements: 

 

· MSEE with 8+ years analog design experience or PhD with 5+years of similar experience 

 

· Analog circuit design exposure/knowledge. Includes understanding of integrated circuit design with an emphasis in Analog power circuits such as; voltage references, ADC’s, current references, and high performance amplifiers. 

· Some experience with behavioral top level modeling and mixed signal verification methodology. 

· Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Matlab 

· Knowledge of image sensors is a plus

· Have experience with CMOS image sensors (preferable but not required)

Must have Skills

 

Image sensor design experience. 

 

o For this we need more than just a part of the image sensor(like a row driver or a column circuit), but the whole image sensor.    

o This includes an understanding of digital design, mixed signal design and pixel design.

· An understanding of how the performance of an image sensor affects the performance of a camera

o As an example, if you’re designing a sensor that has one output, how is the performance different vs having 2 outputs or 4 outputs

· The ability to read customer performance requirements and translate them to image sensor performance specifications

 o If they say they want high dynamic range, what does that mean, if they want low light level performance, what does that mean…

 · An understanding of the common design trade-offs between image sensor performance specifications

o Buzz words like noise, full well, sensitivity

· An understand a variety of common pixel architectures used in image sensors and their relative advantages and disadvantages when designing a sensor.

 o This is similar to asking someone who is an expert on ADCs why they would choose a particular ADC (why would you use a SAR ADC over a Flash ADC or a pipeline ADC)
