Provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers� business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers� businesses. As trusted advisor create and maintain effective customer relationships so as to insure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge. Actively contribute to solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects. Shape technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers. Accountable for consistent and significant chargeability levels (or expense relief for internal project teams) and for assisting in meeting or exceeding revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Contribute to organization�s profitability by generating and cultivating new business opportunities and by providing technical support for deal proposal development. Intermediate: Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems / projects of moderately complex scope. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations. Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Experience: 3 to 5 years. 

• Capacity Analyst Deliverables 
o Provide consulting expertise to others in IT 
o Liaise with other Service Capacity Planners 
o Collect descriptions of service processes for new or changed applications including anticipated volumes 
o Translate service processes using industry baselines into component requirements. May require assistance from outside groups to accomplish this. 
o Size proposed new systems, including for example business applications, packages, decision support systems, and office systems with respect to the computer and network components required, to determine hardware utilizations, performance service levels and cost implications 
o Define impact on existing environment 
o Accumulate information for all new or changed infrastructure and define expansion requirements 
o Estimate overall growth (decrease) of user demand 
o Create component capacity model 
o Create forecast based on historic and expected growth 
o Estimate anticipated improvement in technology on overall component demand 
o Review infrastructure design proposals for performance 
o Develop performance testing procedures to validate design requirements and operating impact 
o It should be noted that the identification of new technology and its relevance to the organization in terms of performance and costs is the responsibility of the Information System Providers and Architects. 
o Quarterly or monthly review of Capacity Plan 
o Contribute monthly to the service level management reporting process (example, the end-to-end performance metrics) 

• Performance Deliverables 
o Analyze service performance data involving response time, throughput, and utilization across all customers for standard services to detect performance trends 
o Component tuning, CPU, disk, network, etc 
o Performance diagnosis to identify component failure 
o Evaluate infrastructure design as result of performance concerns and recommends changes 
o Participate in performance testing 
o Review performance data, proactively identify potential performance bottlenecks, and make recommendations in the form of Request for Change or solution requests for eliminating those bottlenecks 
o Configure performance events to be monitored 
o Size proposed new systems, including for example business applications, packages, decision support systems, and office systems with respect to the computer and network components 
o Implement tuning adjustments 
o Ensure performance management procedures are in place prior to service activation 
• College/University Education in Information Systems or 5+ experience in Level 3 support in Capacity Management 
• Experience in SQL and database applications 
• Ability to work in teams

In-depth knowledge of Midrange Operating Systems. 
• O/S, System Administration, Middleware, Security, and applications. 
• Has previously provided support for system administration functions such as backups, security, patching and operating system upgrades. 
• Experience in Server migration from and solutioning. 

Will also possess an in-depth knowledge of the following: 
• High Availability Configurations 
• Performance Analysis 
• Capacity Planning 
• Technical Writing 
• Ability to train junior staff
