Citrix Server Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: Full Time
The Citrix Server Engineer II will be supporting a multi-tiered high-availability Citrix infrastructure that is highly available, secure, and meets performance standards.
The candidate will be involved in managing and implementing, in varying capacities, a range of virtualization products including, but not limited to, Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer, Provisioning Services, EdgeSight, NetScalers, Citrix Receiver, Web Interface/StoreFront,Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, VMWare vSphere and various related tools in order to support and maintain a virtual desktop and application delivery infrastructure.
Provide tier 1 & 2 support staff with the tools and documentation necessary to support both the Citrix XenApp environment and the virtual desktop environment.
Document processes and procedures, instructions for users and IT personnel.
Document the technical environment including configuration, installation details, and troubleshooting information.
Adhere to strict IT security policies and processes including change management/Change Control for industry standards compliancy.
Monitoring of the Citrix environment including DDCs, XenApp servers, PVS, VDI desktops, and supporting infrastructure using a variety of tools
Respond to critical system issues on a 24x7x365 basis. Keep management up to date about any issues and escalate in a timely manner.
Maintains a multi-tiered Citrix infrastructure that is highly available, secure, and meets performance standards. Installs, tests, evaluate and integrate various applications and 3rd party products into the Citrix environment.
Recommend and implement system enhancements (software/hardware updates) that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the Citrix infrastructure and ensure the environment adheres to Citrix best practices.
Coordinating with project managers to complete Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and other Citrix technology related projects.
Management and make recommendations for virtual desktop images and any associated Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) or Citrix policies related to the management of the Citrix XenApp or VDI environments as well as Citrix infrastructure.
Documenting all Citrix processes & procedures and working with appropriate vendors.
Must have experience on recent versions of Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp.
Must have experience on recent versions of Citrix XenDesktop
Must have experience on recent versions of Citrix Provisioning ServerMust also be aware of industry standards, up and coming available technologies and system best practices.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to diagnose issues based on an understanding of how the system works and the remedy of these issues
Ability to operate in fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple priorities.
Must be able to understand and resolve network system issues.
Must have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
Experience with Citrix NetScaler is a plus
Experience with Citrix XenServer and/or VMWare ESX is a plus
Experience with Microsoft SCCM is a plus
Advanced Citrix troubleshooting techniques.
Good customer service skills.
Knowledge of SharePoint, IIS and Project Management skills is a plus
Experience in Healthcare environment is a plus
Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent Experience. One of the following: MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, Citrix CCA, Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization, ITIL v3 Foundations
5 years of Citrix related support experience
5 years designing, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering a Citrix infrastructure, including XenApp, XenDesktop, Provisioning Server, Citrix Web Interface and EdgeSight.
