POSITION PROFILE

As a Cloud Engineer on the Engineering team, you will be responsible for design, engineering, and optimization of current and emerging technologies that support Ricoh's managed service offerings. This role requires skills from a blend of traditional infrastructure technologies, Cloud IaaS and PaaS offerings, experience with product development and operational experience. The successful candidate will be able to understand and drive solid requirements and then use those to design, procure, deploy, configure, test, and activate solutions. Excellent cross-team collaboration, technical skills, and clear communications are required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently manage and lead technical projects starting with requirements gathering through design and implementation.
  • Work closely with product managers, application Engineers, operations groups and external vendors to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder involvement.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Demonstrate excellent diplomacy, negotiation and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Plan, organize, and control multiple responsibilities to achieve project objectives; technically guide projects through to completion.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high-quality
  • Ensure technical solutions meet the needs of business such as cost, performance, and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • During the procurement process work with vendors and resellers ensuring to manage cost within the boundaries of the defined budget
  • Document solutions, provide formal training to operations staff during product turn up
  • Evaluation of new technologies and tools

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in Information Technology specifically data center environments with technologies such as Virtualization, Storage, and Networking
  • Ideal candidate would possess a Certification in one or more of the following;
    • MCSA: Cloud Platform
    • MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
    • VMware VCP6- Cloud,
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Professional.
    • Dell EMCCA: EMC Cloud Architect
  • Some experience with Public Cloud infrastructure service offerings from Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS is highly desired
  • Ability to Define the Cloud Architecture for both hybrid and non-hybrid cloud solutions
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft products in deployed to large scale environments
    • Active Directory architecture (Hosting Multi-tenant environments a plus)
    • Microsoft clustering in a virtual environment
    • Creation, maintenance, and management of Windows OS virtual templates
    • Extensive use of automation scripts to perform typical administrative functions, report generation, integrity checking, etc.
  • Strong practical Linux and/or Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
  • Minimum two years' experience in scripting and programming skills, preferably using PowerShell, Perl, Python, Ruby, and/or BASH
  • Understanding of Data Center virtualization technologies
  • Experience with troubleshooting and incident response best practices
  • Systems monitoring Key Performance Indicators
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines
  • Mature verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical staff as well as less technical colleagues

Preferred experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred, or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience working in a large service provider environment or Enterprise environments
  • MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Professional.
