Cloud Engineer - CMPS
In this role, you will be a member of the Cloud Management Platform & Services (CMPS) team responsible for maintaining and delivering key technologies streams for the service line multi-tenant and multi-cloud production-computing platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to design and execute implementation for simple to complex cloud solutions that may include multi region (multi cloud) DR, high availability, complex application clustering, CSP service integration, identity and access management
Create, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud networking design & infrastructure for AWS, OCI and Azure GovCloud environments
Support current firewall configurations and troubleshoot advanced network related tickets
Assess network security gaps and recommend solutions
Perform scripting and coding for GovCloud environments as it relates to networking and AWS, OCI, and Azure
Deliver timely and effective provisioning of new hosted clients ensuring the application technical architecture aligns with CMPS supported technologies
Handover implementations to sustainment and operations team.
Conduct release management and support for platform service line with proactive planning and reporting of infrastructure growth
Support and enhance service line critical applications and services: DNS, SMTP, Active Directory, Terminal Services, Nagios, Nessus, SSH, Multi-Factor Authentication, Firewalls, CSP services
Adopt subject matter expert role for service line key technologies: Virtualization, applications integration with Linux based operating systems (e.g. RedHat, Centos, OEL), and MSWIN operating systems.
Support cloud management services: Identity and Access Management, Security Groups, CSP native services and ensure alignment with CMPS supported technologies
Provide inputs to application teams to ensure architecture meets environment security, audit compliance, performance requirements.
Must be available and participate in a weekly on-call schedule rotation
AWS, Oracle, or Azure cloud provider experience for virtual deployments, hosting, and migration
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field
4+ years' experience troubleshooting and debugging Microsoft Windows and Linux based operating systems in an administrative/support capacity
10-15 years of experience working with infrastructures and 2-5 years of experience with one or more vendor cloud platforms
Microsoft Azure commercial or government cloud provider experience for virtual deployments, hosting, and migration
Advanced experience in large scale system cloud architecture, design, and integration with a focus on infrastructure (operational support), storage, automation, networking, and virtualization
Experience in developing basis of estimates and level of effort estimates for both implementation and sustainment scopes
Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, and networking
Bash shell, PowerShell, and/or Python scripting experience
Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools

Other Job Specific Skills
At least one certification in cloud server technology
Experience with hosting, deploying and/or migrating with other commercial and federal government clouds - AWS, Oracle, Azure, Google Cloud Providers
System recovery techniques, performance tuning, NIS
Networking and exposure to firewall configuration and tuning
Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DOD IL4, IL5 and/or IL6 security controls, continuous monitoring and assessment & authorization and other federal security standards and guidelines.
Familiarity with PIV Integration, Terraform, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment experience (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
