Currently, we are not able to sponsor VISA conversions of any status. You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa support of any kind.
Although this position may have a remote/flexible work arrangement during the COVID-19 epidemic, it is expected that this position is located on the UC Merced Campus unless otherwise negotiated.

This is a two-year (2) appointment which is renewable based on performance and budget. All UC contract appointments are eligible for full UC benefits including, holidays, sick-pay, vacation-pay, medical, retirement, dental, and vision benefits.

About the Job
Cloud Environment Manager will work on Software AS A Service Applications across the organization and is an experienced software professional with a solid understanding of cloud best practices, single and multi-tenant domain knowledge, change management, and relevant policies and procedures to support application environments for departments, the enterprise, and as part of the Financial Information Technology Services group. This position will be involved in working on administrative systems, with a focus on leading and directing private, public, and hybrid cloud environment-related business systems that support academic and administrative services.

As a technical environment manager, you will work closely with software engineers, techno-functional analyst, cross-functional teams, business users to manage application environments, upgrades, bug fixes, provision user accounts and access, test plans, and help drive release process improvements. Create and maintain project plans to assist in managing all activities required to carry out major code upgrades to all application environments successfully. Manage data refreshes, collating test data, and assist in the sanitizing of production or other sensitive data. You will also work hand-in-hand with our operations teams, change advisory board to ensure the smooth roll-out of new functionality.

The role will primarily focus on managing cloud environments related to Oracle Financials Application, Hyperion, Concur, MuleSoft, CashNet, OneSource, Staging Servers, Reporting Applications, and related application environments. Technically the EM will work on managing production, test, development, sandbox environments. Schedule upgrade, maintenance windows with vendors, and software partners. Conduct data and clone refreshes. Utilize a variety of tools to assess environment health and performance. Make recommendations on how to reduce environment complexity/improve operational agility and efficiency. Respond effectively to incidents and outages. Produce documentation related to configurations, processes, and procedures related to environments. Collaborate with technical and non-technical experts to define, build, and deliver solutions, utilizing an extensive understanding of business fundamentals to enable traversing multiple architectures and applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3. Initiates, designs or modifies highly complex systems, processes and procedures where standardized policies or procedures may not exist. Creates highly technical specifications for systems with broad impact at a campus / medical center / OP or within a large organization. Performs highly complex analysis of unit and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system and process requirement specifications.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (IS) or Information Technology (IT) or related and 5 years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent experience / training. (Required)
• Minimum of 6 years of experience working with financial systems in an enterprise applications team for an information technology organization. (Preferred) Minimum of 4 years of working in a complex IT organization and demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology systems and practices.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:
• Proven ability to develop strategies and write, communicate, facilitate, and present solutions.
• Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate and correct malfunctions involving technology systems. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.
• Proven ability to maintain and enhance Oracle Cloud Financials, MuleSoft, SAP Concur, OneSource, Cashnet, Hyperion, Essbase, and other applications and database environments.
• Demonstrated experience with database administration. Advanced knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to highly complex database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. Knowledge of conceptual database design. Skills necessary to develop procedures and standards relating to database management systems. Skills associated with implementing database enhancements that improve performance and reliability of the system at the software, hardware and operating system level.
• Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
• Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Experience in data integration and the specification of data services. Ability to understand and model complex knowledge-intensive processes such as scholarly and research processes.
• Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
• Technical skill to develop, implement and test disaster recovery functions using backup technologies. Demonstrated ability to create an atmosphere of trust, supporting diverse views to encourage innovation and design thinking, participate in staff recruitment and retention activities.
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
