Basic Purpose

The Cloud Native Engineering team is looking for a security focused technology manager who has specialized skills in the cloud infrastructure, data security to ensure the controls and governance are implemented as recommended by the Information Security Standards, guidelines for cloud. The ideal candidate should understand the latest cloud security trends and stay abreast of the threats and vulnerabilities reported and remediate them by working with Information Security. To accomplish strategic and security objectives by overseeing business units' delivery of large, complex technology driven programs. Ensures effectiveness of programs through applications of active change management techniques and changing goals/priorities. Ensures the effective balancing of talent and resourcing to meet project requirements. Ensures effective coordination and management of projects and activities within the team to include project design, testing, evaluation plans, timelines, and operational planning in support of key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership to large, strategic, and operational projects related to Cloud Security
• Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation
• Ensure all security requests and changes are coordinated with Information Security, documented, and implemented
• Create awareness about trending technology changes in the cloud by partnering with Information Security and business partners
• Ensure all cloud process, technology, and architecture changes are reviewed and verified with Information Security and documented before implementation
• Work on complex systems, being customer-centric, and delivering results while solving security challenges in innovative ways
• Focus on C-Level client relationship building and relationship management
• Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
o Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
o Establish performance goals and priorities
o Prepare, conduct, and review performance appraisals
o Develop, mentor, and counsel staff
o Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
o Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
o Ensure efficiency of operations
o Leadership Level - Supervise daily activities
• Lead and coordinate the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing of projects to scope, identify risk exposure and remediation of non-compliance to standards
• Provide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging cloud security trends and practices
• Plan, develop, and implement standards, communications, programs and services according to best practices
• Monitor key performance indicators, determine gaps in performance metrics, and recommend/execute change management techniques for efficiency/quality improvements
• Select and manage vendors and contracts including contract development, monitoring, and issue resolution; oversee contract quality assurance, budget, and cost mechanisms
• Identify and resolve operational and performance gaps and obstacles; implement changes and improvements
• Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and industry laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Business Administration or the equivalent combination of training, education, certification, and experience
• Significant experience in managing teams (preferably product teams), prioritizing work for the team
• Possess knowledge of cloud technologies on any cloud service provider, such as Azure, GCP or AWS
• Significant experience handling security related projects on the traditional datacenters or on the cloud
• Knowledge or experience in managing Identity and Access Management, Threat and Vulnerability Management, Risk and IT controls related projects
• Ability to interpret security threats and assess the impact to the organization quickly and coordinate remediation activities
• Bring high level energy, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure
• Extensive experience in project leadership and execution, including initiatives with technology, processes, cross-functional teams, and external partner team members
• Expert skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership
• Extensive experience leading, guiding, and coaching professional staff
• Extensive experience in client/vendor management to achieve strategic/tactical goals and implementation
• Extensive experience in vendor risk management and oversight
• Expert verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Industry standard security certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, CISP, CCSA, CRISC or equivalent
• Strong Azure Security Technology Knowledge or Azure related Certifications - AZ-500, AZ-300, or equivalent
• Navy Federal processes and organizational knowledge

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.

The salary range for this position is: $106,800 - $184,400

As a COVID-19 safety measure, our employees must either provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or follow additional safety protocols, including testing.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this position will be temporarily working from home with plans to return to campus at the desired location listed once Navy Federal is back to normal operations. The specific logistics for returning to campus will be determined at a future date by individual leadership
