Job Description

Our company is an IT Consulting, Web/E-commerce Development, and Custom Software Development firm based in Mclean, VA. Our commercial domestic and international clients are looking for candidates with the following skill sets:

Candidates with Food Service or Life Sciences industry experience a plus.


- Take a leading role in the day to day project quality assurance duties.
- Design, develop, implement and maintain quality practices including methodologies, measurements and reporting. Maintain the level of quality across all processes,
- Conduct formal and informal reviews and report project status and issues to management.
- Work cooperatively within an integrated team in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify quality problems, initiates, recommends, and provides solutions, and verifies implementation of solutions.
- Enforce standards and sign off on requirements.
- Work closely with all levels to improve processes and the quality of developed applications turned over to QA.
- Develop and maintain Quality Assurance project timelines.
- Comply with established CMMI standards and practices.
- Other duties/projects may be assigned by management.
- Play an integral role throughout all phases of the product life cycle and/or Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Maintain consistent configuration control; prepare, publish, and monitor all CM related documents and actions in accordance with both contractual and industry policies & procedures.
- Interface with the various engineering disciplines and other company professionals to help coordinate documentation approval efforts and communicate changes.
- Training and/or experience in CM preferred, including ISO/CMMI.
- Responsible for coordination of testing activities for multiple application development teams
- Conduct automated testing is preferred
- Provides guidance and training on CMMI compliant processes
- Facilitate Systems Engineering Process Team (SEPT) meetings
- Assist SEPT members with development of necessary Plans to comply with CMMI requirements
- Record and track status of CMMI Project Action Items, Risks, and Issues
- Develop, track, and communicate functional and technical requirements.
- Perform requirements determination, requirements analysis, system development, system implementation, and operational support.
- Provide an interpretation of guidelines and regulations related to the unique requirements of the project and have the ability to write functional specifications that can be leveraged by programmers for software system development.
- Develop procedures, create rough orders of magnitude, and follow configuration management controls for tracking all requirements.


- Possess knowledge of quality assurance practices and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge in two or more of Agile, CMMI, Lean Six Sigma and ISO best practices is preferred.
- Industry knowledge in Project Management standards and methodologies and practices.
- Industry knowledge in Quality Assurance standards and methodologies and practices.
- Demonstrated experience with systems lifecycle models.
- Coordination and communications with project level team members and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- BA/BS degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred
- 1+ years as a Quality Manager or Quality Engineer reviewing, developing, or monitoring QA/QC programs for commercial, public sector, and/or government clients
- 1+ years of that experience in a quality assurance, quality control, and/or quality management leadership role doing development and analysis of performance metrics in a transaction processing environment involving the implementation of a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program for an IT contract.
- Hands-on with extensive experience with systems lifecycle models.
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with CMMI.
- Experience working in a Capability Maturity Model Integration for Services (CMMI-SVC) and/or Development (CMMI-DEV) Level III or higher environment.
- Experience with business process capture/analysis, use cases, process workflow analysis mapping, developing a requirements traceability matrix, and business process reengineering
- PMP certification or other nationally recognized QA certification is preferred
- Lean Six Sigma green belt certification experience is preferred
- Appraisal Team Member (ATM) in prior formal CMMI SCAMPI assessments is preferred
