Job Description

The Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) will be part of a regional team assigned to specific accounts and opportunities while supporting the Systems Engineering organization. The CSE will partner with our clients, as well as manufacturer partners, to develop the appropriate relationships necessary to drive Dimension Data business.  Additionally, the CSE will partner with internal teams including Sales, Delivery, and Business Unit/Service Unit to develop strategic initiatives to drive sales success. The CSE may cover Global, Enterprise, Commercial and public sector markets. (Remote)

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Systems Engineers to ensure that team meets and exceeds expectations as it pertains to establishing pricing requirements, presentations, configurations and other product demonstrations
  • Subject matter expert in a couple key BU’s and  has the ability to engage with a client without any other resources
  • Ability to help identify opportunities “outside” of their core expertise and engages the appropriate resources, as necessary
  • Provides the client with a single point of contact for their specialty in 90% of all engagements
  • Assist the sales and engineering teams to produce business relevant solutions
  • Provides local Systems Engineering and Sales teams with training and education on subjects requested by the Systems Engineering Director
  • Provides SOW, pricing, design, Visio and all other artifacts that may be required during the sales engagement
  • Continuous self-study to keep up with the constantly changing technology in order to advise on complicated designs
  • Act as a key liaison and contributor for company events with clients and partners
  • Have knowledge of relevant solutions sets, performance criteria and applications for Dimension Data offerings (For example -  Unified Communications, VPN's, Security, QoS, Remote/Local Access, Data Center, Storage, Virtualization, Video, Wireless, and Cloud technologies)
  • Ensures success of client and partner relationships for technical presales team
  • Travel will be required to support the large geography
