Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy, the Content Specialist/Proposal Writer is responsible for:
  • Developing original content, editing and polishing curated or SME authored content ensuring all writing assignments align with brand standards and company policies and appropriately reflect the mission and values of FEI Systems and the clients we serve.
    1. Creating marketing content for website, social media, email, and other channels to drive engagement and visibility.
    2. Writing, editing and conceptual development of technical content to contribute to high-quality, compelling proposals
  • Creating and maintaining a content marketing calendar that ensures regular content creation on multiple platforms throughout the year.
  • Collaborating with director of marketing and brand strategy to develop email, social, blog, and other content campaigns.
  • Determining how to best repurpose content for multiple channels.
  • Creating and managing content libraries for RFP responses.
  • Compiling and formatting proposal inputs during each proposal phase and assisting with responding to proposal data calls
  • Ensuring assignments are fully compliant with Requests for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Editing and formatting of documents for inclusion in proposals, such as resumes and past performance, ensuring quality and consistency as relates to spelling, overall appearance, and layout.
  • Supporting several proposals and marketing efforts simultaneously in a high-volume, quick-turnaround environment.
  • Meeting deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; coordinating requirements with all contributors; and contributing deliverable status information to review meetings.
  • Maintaining and developing baseline/evergreen content for ongoing use.
  • Editing and proofreading proposals and other materials ensuring accuracy, clarity, readability.
  • Supporting other marketing and communications writing needs as required.
  • Supporting the proposal team with other efforts as needed.

Required Skills/Education
  • Minimum of 5 years of content development/content marketing experience
  • Proposal writing, related experience or professional familiarity with the proposal management process (preferred).
  • Experience in health and human services, public administration, academic research centers or healthcare (preferred)
  • Superior writing skills across multiple formats, channels and purposes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficiency in social media, digital campaign/content marketing and e-mail marketing systems (HootSuite, SalesForce, Pardot, ConstantContact, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, planning, communication, follow-up and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work against strict deadlines.
  • Strict attention to detail; must be able to author and lead sections of a proposal, have the ability to review and edit proposal content for clarity, grammar, and proper use of technical or customer terminology
  • Availability and willingness to work long hours on short notice during high volume proposal development periods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong editing skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and distill complex information into engaging, consumer-friendly content.
  • Demonstrated understanding of proposal development process and management techniques; working knowledge of the Shipley methodology and/or APMP Certification is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
