From the hiring manager:
We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with data but perhaps we need to widen our search to include additional "soft" skills. After reviewing a number of Office and Administrative Specialist Senior postings in MN's Self Service Portal, I think we are looking for someone with that range of skills. Advanced data analysis is preferred but not necessarily required. Please consider the following competencies when selecting resumes for us to review:
•Experience using MS Excel alongside other application tools to monitor, collect, and analyze data. Preferred skills creating and working with pivot tables.
•Skills in database management sufficient to retrieve information from database systems.
•Ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems with a team.
•Data quality improvement skills, including strong attention to detail.
•Ability to follow documentation and data standards.
•Ability to use good human relations skills to interact with hospital partners via email (common courtesy, interest in positive problem solving, empathy, and logical organization of ideas).
•Ability to analyze and make recommendations to a team on new or revised procedures for the smooth and efficient collection of hospital data.
Preferred but not required:
•A commitment to serving in Minnesota's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
•Professional experience in public health or the health care industry.
•Public sector experience.
Daily Quality and Reporting Supplies data to SEOC(if activated), HHS TeleTracking, Governor of Minnesota, University of Minnesota, COVID-19 Critical Care Command Center (C4), State Office of Management and Budget for PPE Distribution and Usage Tracking, and internal MDH operations, such as Health Economics for COVID-19 Case Modeling, and Infectious Disease Epidemiology Prevention and Control (IDEPC) for surveillance. MNTrac and Tableau® are primary reporting tools. This is a seven day per week role.
•Performs error corrections and data quality procedures and operations.
•Designs and maintains reports for the various data consumers.
•Uploads required data to TeleTracking and distributes reports to data consumers 7 days per week.
Data Quality Analysis and Monitoring
Monitors, analyzes and applies quality procedures to data, to provide data consumers with reliable, accurate, and actionable data for COVID-19 planning and operational activities. This is a seven day per week role.
Develops and maintains error identification and correction procedures and tools. Performs daily quality and validation operations. Provides technical assistance to providers to address errors, missing data, and other data quality issues. Troubleshoots with data recipients to correct reporting irregularities and implements requests for enhancement to reports.
