Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation Collateral Information Security Department (CISD) in El Segundo, California is responsible for ensuring the security posture of our Collateral information systems. This department creates, implements and disseminates policies and procedures that govern all aspects of Collateral information systems operation. The Information Assurance Specialist IV is responsible for assisting the CISD Director with the oversight of all Collateral Information Systems compliance related responsibilities and with the training and development of Information Assurance Specialists performing the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) role for CISD.

Key Functions
  • Coordinating with all stake holders throughout initial concept, implementation, authorization, operation, maintenance and disestablishment of classified information systems
  • Ensuring and facilitating consistent communication with Aerospace and Government customers maintaining situational awareness of all compliance activities and government requirements
  • Establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously monitoring the overall security compliance posture of classified information systems under the Risk Management Framework
  • Creating and maintaining Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) records for all Collateral information systems
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are continuously monitored for needed improvements
  • Ensuring all personnel are properly authorized and trained prior to being given access to classified systems and continuously monitoring industry best practices for new training
  • Conducting periodic self-inspections and risk and vulnerability assessments
  • Overseeing the training of Privileged and General users and mentoring ISSO's
  • Attaining and maintaining Collateral systems Assessment & Authorizations to Operate (ATO's)
  • Leading the classified incident handling process and overseeing the reporting and investigation of all information system security related incidents
  • Leading of the Configuration Control Board through evaluating and/or approving any hardware or software changes to approved system baselines
  • Conducting auditing review and analysis of secure IT assets
  • Ensuring the protection of intellectual property, both classified and unclassified belonging or charged to the Aerospace corporation at all locations and protects the lives and property of employees and visitors against criminal activities, disasters or emergencies
  • Engaging and coordinating across the Aerospace enterprise as required to achieve and maintain compliance oversight

Qualifications

Required
  • Have and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Typically 10 or more years' experience with the implementation and sustainment of cybersecurity best practices, standards, requirements, processes and methodologies
  • Have a thorough understanding of Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM) or equivalent Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization life cycle of classified information systems
  • Have and maintain a DoD 8570 Level III IAM certification (CISSP or CISM or GSLC)
  • Working knowledge of DCSA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) database
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the US Government, DoD, other governmental agencies, contractors and all levels of customers and corporate staff
  • Ability to multitask efficiently managing time and requiring minimal supervision

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced knowledge in the concepts and use of DCSA eMASS database
  • Ability to conduct evaluation and analysis of software/hardware intended for use on the secured IT assets
  • Be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks / projects and possess strong organizational skills
  • Possess excellent writing, speaking, analytical, project management, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Have demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Have a thorough understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Have experience in the implementation and oversight of a continuous monitoring program
  • Proficient in Assured File Transfer (AFT) processes and tools
