Job Description

This work includes serving as a level I IT Cybersecurity Technician, remediating vulnerable hosts, conducting incident response from SOP, using NAC (ForeScout) and anti-virus (McAfee) solutions; remediation based upon Tenable ACAS security health checks of clients, servers, and network devices; implementing quarantine procedures; managing McAfee/HBSS clients, defining, assessing and recommending security solutions to System Support personnel and assisting the Cyber Security staff in resolving security client problems; completing documentation and coordinating with Cyber Security personnel or other information technology staff (e.g., server admins, helpdesk staff).

All work performed falls within the constraints of AR 25-1, 25-2 as well as CYBERCOM, NETCOM, NGB and NEARNG NEC directives. This position supports all members of the NEARNG and Nebraska Military Department (NMD). This position works directly with G6 information technology staff to include Network Enterprise Center (NEC) staff and System Support Help Desk staff. This position also occasionally coordinates with RTI, SASMO, Aviation and Recruiting & Retention IT staff on issue resolution. This position also coordinates directly with supervisors of other directorates and units to communicate quarantine remediation actions.

Mandatory Position Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen (proof of citizenship required upon selection) Associate’s Degree in computer science, information technology or related technology field OR 3 year’s equivalent experience in information technology, preferably IT system security. Candidate MUST show at least one year of experience with client configuration or security configurations. Minimum two years’ experience in client management (Windows or LINUX) with preference to candidates that show experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft System Update (SUP aka WSUS), or other client update tools. Certification in this field is highly preferred but not required.
