DEADLINE: 12 a.m., Monday, 9/30/2019
HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., M-Th (on-call rotation after hours and weekends)
The ideal candidate would have a mix of experience with Oracle Database Administration 11g/12c and Microsoft SQL Server Administration 2012; possess 5 to 7 years of experience supporting Oracle Database technologies and Real Application Cluster implementations; and demonstrate experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Applications (a plus).
The ideal candidate should also have a solid understanding of database security, data encryption, monitoring, and backup/recovery best practices; be a contributor in a large enterprise-level database environment; be able to support various relational database technologies; possess the ability to work closely with other administrators as well as vendors; and be able to communicate issues and solutions clearly using the appropriate technical details for the audience.
The ideal candidate will be part of an on-call rotation and needs to be able to respond after hours and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in management information systems, computer science, or a closely related field; and four years of progressively responsible experience in the design, development, and administration of complex relational databases and the management of database management systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid Nevada driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
Certification as an Oracle Certified Professional is highly desirable.
