Job Scope & Purpose:

Our Waltham based client is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join their team. Key requirements for this need are project management and high throughput screening data analysis. Knowledge of programming and scripting, including proficient R, Python, and Shell is also highly advantageous. Please apply if you are ready to advance your career!

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and generate visualizations from early drug discovery campaigns data across a variety of the company's target programs with quick turnaround time
  • Automation of data deposition, verification, registration, integration, and analysis
  • Establish, maintain, and adapt data management protocols upon request and according to evaluation of experimental procedures from new vendors
  • Maintain detailed and organized repositories of raw and processed data including standard assays associated with regular data upload
  • Maintain protocols and manage reporting of HTS to Spotfire and internal database (in consultation with Chemistry, Biology, and Platform teams)
  • Work with Platform team and external consultants and to develop consistent and standardized analysis templates for HTS data from multiple Programs (includes hit confirmation)
  • Assist program Biology teams in implementing standardized analysis for data at a fast pace
  • Act as gatekeeper to central chemistry compound database, ensuring all biological assay data uploaded is consistently formatted and free from error while adhering to deadlines
  • Work with scientists across disciplines, including chemistry, neurobiology, oncology, bioinformatics and machine learning, to furnish the company's central chemical compound database with all of the necessary data to progress the science
  • Smartly summarize data and prepare and deliver clear presentations. Generate slides to be used by yourself and/or other team members at internal and external meetings.
  • Perform all job functions in a manner that protects the intellectually sensitive nature of the data being handled

Primary Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Biology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • An understanding of biology and experience working with biological data are mandatory, knowledge of RNA biology strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with HTS data processing, analysis, and data management in Pharma setting
  • Deep knowledge with generating curve-fitting visualizations of data, e.g. 4 parameter logistic fits
  • Excellent command of Spotfire, Excel and Prism is essential, experience with Vortex and Genedata are a plus
  • Sound knowledge of programming and scripting, including proficient R, Python, and Shell
  • Database knowledge and technical competence with computers: an ability to easily navigate the file structure of a Windows OS and work with standard Microsoft Office software
  • An avidity for working with data and performing quantitative analysis
  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) and laboratory information management system (LIMS) is expected; experience with Benchling preferred
  • Flexible, proactive, efficient, and able to work independently with a fast-paced in a dynamic work environment with interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
  • Strong attention to detail: an ability to manually curate data where programmatic solutions fail or are unavailable
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Any additional languages are an asset
