Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: Temporarily remote (required onsite in San Francisco, CA post-pandemic)
12 month Contract role w/ potential full-time conversion or additional 12 month extension
The Virtual Channels Group (VCG) manages the delivery of financial products and services to consumer and business customers via virtual channels (online, mobile, phone) and leads the company's online channel and e-commerce activity across businesses and geographies. This position will be responsible for performing various complex activities related to fraud risk analysis, reporting and strategy development as it relates to the various Virtual Channels. The position is responsible for supporting and collaborating with Risk Portfolio Managers within the Fraud Prevention & Authentication (FP&A) team, and ensuring the most current fraud trends and fraud risks are being considered within product development plans, and product life-cycles. It is responsible for analyzing the current performance of fraud alerting strategies, optimizing them, and recommending new or additional actions. The position will communicate regularly with team members internally and outside of FP&A, and even outside the VCG group in order to complete requests or analysis. The position must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently to large audiences and management.
Duties may include: performing complex analysis and/or modeling that maximizes profits and/or asset growth and minimizes fraud and/or operating losses and other risk exposures; providing analytical support for Internet and mobile banking; segmenting and monitoring various risk, deposit and other product groups, thresholds, etc. and making recommendations to management based on those trends; creating adhoc reports in response to new trends/products/issues; reviewing and analyzing trends in current population distributions and recommending strategies.
The Virtual Channels Group is seeking an analytics expert in SQL and SAS, an individual with a true analytical mind who carries the ability to tell a story and solve problems with data, strong communication, and ability to use data as proof to illustrate solutions to business problems.
- 8-10 years of data analysis experience
- Daily use of SAS & SQL manipulation tools
- Tableau experience
