Job Description

Tri-County Health Network, a community-based non-profit serving San Miguel, Ouray, Montrose, and Delta counties, is seeking a full time Data Analyst to join our team!

The Analyst will review, trend, report and interpret population health data, including clinical outcomes, to identify opportunities for improvement on program, financial, quality, & patient experience.

Responsibilities include the evaluation and analysis of healthcare utilization and outcome data using Excel, Cognos or any other business intelligence tools. Working with our partner clinics, the Analyst will automate import/export features between EMR & disease registries; deploy population health &/or care management modules to help with empanelment, risk stratification and quality improvement activities; and develop reports and dashboards to accurately track clinical outcome measures and demographic data. The Analyst will design and develop reports from various data sources, identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, and communicate complex ideas via all communication venues. She/he will ensure that all report and analyses are accurate, complete, and produced within the required deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS - The successful candidate will have the following credentials, experience and skills:

  • Bachelors Degree with concentration in health informatics, programming computing, epidemiology, statistics or related field
  • 2-3 years of previous data analysis and/or applied research experience
  • Advanced user of business intelligence (Cognos, SAS), MS Excel and Access; VBA & SQL report writing skills and experience a plus
  • Previous HMO/Managed Care or Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred; experience or interest in understanding patient care delivery in rural health care setting a plus
  • Understanding of health data formats including: Medicare claims, EMR, lab and pharmacy
  • Excellent knowledge of data collection, analysis, statistics and data presentation with experience in data mining techniques and procedures
  • Prefer industry knowledge including Accountable Care Organizations, healthcare reform, population health management model
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects in an environment with diverse, competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate participant performance against risk-based population health programs and develop tactics to improve performance and minimize total cost of care
  • Interest in contributing to a fast-paced, innovative non-profit

EMPLOYMENT TYPE - Full-time. Partial telecommuting may be available for the right candidate after 90 days of successful, on-site employment.

LOCATION Telluride, CO. No relocation assistance available.
