Job Description

Smartronix, Inc., is an information technology/ engineering solutions provider, a Premier Amazon Web Services Consulting Partner and Microsoft Gold partner specializing in Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Health IT, Network Operations, and Mission-Focused Engineering.

In this role, the Data Architect will directly support and work as a hands-on contributor within the Solution Delivery Organization. They will solve complex data centric problems by using analytical thinking and data analysis tools. They will bring proven industry experience and creative thinking to the role. They will leverage a combination of scientific and computational skills to bring meaningful insights to data landscapes. They may be involved in the use of Machine Learning concepts and tools, as well as statistical analysis.

They will exploit both proven and new techniques and methods and devise entirely new data strategies. They will look to leverage not only industry proven COTS solutions but cloud native capabilities to the full extent possible. They will be able to look across a variety of data sources to devise proven yet inventive ways of organizing, consolidating, and optimizing how the data is used and what it means.

They will not only bring the key qualities of a data scientist, but also those of a data analyst, architect, communicator, and trusted adviser. They must be able and willing to collaborate as part of any project team - large or small. They must be receptive to feedback, and capable of clearly communicating with their customer's, management and other key stakeholders in both technical and high level terms.


+ Bring a data oriented viewpoint to any project
+ Be able to work directly with customers and other team members to collect and decipher requirements
+ Participate in the evaluation of alternative technologies and procedures, and work with key customer stakeholders to drive decisions
+ Seek opportunities to utilize cloud-native data services in the reengineering of systems and data stores
+ Contribute to the composition of related project plans, tasks and milestones
+ Identify, understand, and decompose existing problems and provide approaches to improve data structures - making them more effective and efficient
+ Merge data sources together and ensure consistency of data-sets in doing so
+ Enhance and upgrade the efficiency of data collection procedures or methods
+ Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
+ Frame and assist in the development of visualization techniques to aid in understanding data
+ Organize and funnel data through the most efficient available configuration possible and translate the most valuable data into meaningful discussions that assist users and decision makers in solving problems
+ Create anomaly detection systems
+ Identify and analyze data shortfalls, hidden insights or anomalies
+ Present and clearly communicate any data insights or findings to various team members, leadership and key customer stakeholders
+ Write technical documentation and standard operating procedures for both internal company usage and customer distribution or deliver

Required Skills
Required Skills:

+ 2+ years working directly on customer engagements
+ 2+ years leveraging AWS or Azure platform services
+ 2+ years of hands-on experience with a statistical programming language (e.g.: R, Python, Java, C++, etc.)
+ 5+ years of experience working within a data warehouse environment (e.g.: Redshift, Teradata or similar data warehousing platforms)
+ 5+ years of experience with at least one major RDBMS platform (e.g.: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
+ Ability to understand customer requirements and work within any provided constraints
+ Demonstrated ability to write or contribute to technical documentation
+ Hands-on experience with a query language (e.g.: SQL, Hive, Pig)
+ Possess a solid understanding of statistical analysis and testing methodologies
+ Possess a basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts, constructs and terminology
+ Demonstrated ability to examine and explore how data from multiple disparate sources creates relationships, patterns, associations and other factors that drive data sets and visualizations
+ Hands-on experience automating system processes to improve resource and manpower intensive procedures
+ Experience with NoSQL databases desired but not a requirement (e.g.: DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB, HBase)

Required Experience

+ Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
+ 7 years of Cloud related experience required
+ Bachelors Degree required or additional 7 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree
