John SAIC on a newly awarded and funded, 7 year program! We are seeking a Data Services/System Architect to support a customer-facing, Cloud technology contract. Duties include:

  • Perform systems architecture and engineering to define, architect, design, engineer and implement enterprise-wide IT systems and solutions across the technology stack
  • Develop design concepts that are consistent with the Enterprise Architecture guidance and industry best practices to address new requirements, changes in the technical environment, and/or enhance performance
  • Provide technical expertise in creating, updating, maintaining and visualizing architecture data
  • Serve as a technical liaison with regard to system architecture focusing on performance, availability, redundancy, data protection, and information security
  • Collaborate with customers to evaluate mission drivers, identify challenges, define mitigation strategies, assess applications, develop transition plans, and develop business cases in support of Cloud and other initiatives
  • Assess emerging technologies that can be used for transforming today's infrastructure/processes and Cloud adoption
  • Analyze, convey and lead architectural progress towards goals and objectives, including the organization's Cloud First directive


Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly is required
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience or Masters and seven (7) years or more experience or PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Degree/s must be from an accredited institution
  • Experience in creating and managing Enterprise Architectures
  • Must be available to work during core hours: M-F, 9-3

Desired Qualifications
This position will be working closely with Data Architects, and the following skills will be helpful:
  • Managing the effective implementation of backup and restore procedures and working practices
  • Communicates changes and enhancements to backup and restore standards, procedures and technology
  • Reviews backup and restore reports on a daily basis and monitors backup and restore information, standards, procedures, measurements, tools and technology
  • Determine what reports are produced and the reporting schedule
  • W orks closely with Service Level Management to ensure data management services remain capable of meeting ongoing and future requirements
  • Estimates overall storage resource and budget requirements for Asset Management as input to the IT plan in conjunction with other process owners
  • Collates and analyzes process measurements associated with data management and recommends improvement activities based on service deviation
