Job Description

This is a contract opportunity with a top entertainment client. RECENT MICROSTRATEGY experience is a requirement!  

BI reporting is also a major part of this role as the final candidate will be working with two groups to define data and determine data needed or missing. Candidate will be responsible for testing, sorting, and validating data. 

Manager needs someone who is willing to learn new data, new business processes and concepts.  Teradata/Oracle are a plus but not requirements.  Some retail/consumer products experience is also a plus. 

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer-related degree • Minimum 5 years of experience with data warehousing and business intelligence • Minimum 5 years of experience with all phases of a software development lifecycle • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business analyst role for a medium to large scale BI implementation • Minimum 2 years of recent experience with MicroStrategy development toolset including direct responsibility for the creation of reports, documents, dynamic dashboards, and associated report objects such as metrics, filters, custom groups, etc. • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio) • Strong BI/DW technical analysis skills, including ability to read and write complex SQL statements • Basic understanding of DW data modeling concepts • Familiarity with Teradata, Oracle is a definite plus • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Experience with product licensing and contract management systems a plus • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both business users and technical developers • Experience with offshore development model • Media / Entertainment background • Some retail experience a plus 

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a primary IT contact for the reporting systems supporting the Brand Development division. This individual works across business and IT teams and performs both functional and technical tasks in order to maintain the system and deliver projects. • Analyze business processes and data used to support the reporting and analytics for multiple departments within Brand Development • Partner with business teams to understand and document user requirements for enhancements and general system changes • Create functional specifications for ETL and reporting components that translate business requirements into a detailed design • Work with onshore and offshore technical teams on designing, testing, and implementing system changes • Coordinate the testing and implementation of system changes with the business and other IT teams • Monitor ongoing development efforts and provide regular progress reporting of current activities to IT and business teams
