The Database Administrator is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Altura s critical enterprise database systems. The Database Administrator is a critical piece of Altura s technology support team, providing tier two escalation support to vendors and staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent combination of education and related experience is required.
5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience is required.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
Experience with performance, tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for SQL.
Must be able to configure and install SQL server as well as SQL Server Management Studio.
Must be able to configure and deploy reports using SQL Server Report Services.
Experience with SQL Enterprise Tabular models is desired.
Experience administering enterprise data replication/backups processes is desired.
Experience modeling data using relational (3NF) and dimensional techniques (STAR) is desired.
Must understand SQL queries, how to create and troubleshoot SQL jobs, stored procedures and triggers.
Must be able to manage security access and user groups to database servers using active directory.
(MCTS, MCITP and/or MVP) is a plus.
Strong understanding of SQL security practices in a high security environment.
Proficient math skills ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate averages and percentages.
High level of reasoning capability and problem resolution skills, with the ability to collect, compile, and analyze information and present data in an understandable format to management and employees.
Ability to make sound decisions under extreme circumstances with confidence and firmness after assembling facts and weighing alternative solutions.
Ability to use good judgment in setting priorities and carrying out duties under limited supervision.

The ability to use the arms to lift storage boxes of files onto shelving overhead twice a week.
This job does not require a person to lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. Personal protection equipment is available.
