Document and present actionable product research findings of his/her own to the product team. The presentation of research findings are delivered in an engaging way that is comprised of oral, visual, and written reports.
UX Researcher/Usability Tester
The UX Researcher/Usability Tester will assist in the development of a greenfield enterprise application to protect users from IT security threats. This role is to ensure that consumer research is consistently supporting product initiatives and that our product team is not shooting in the dark in research initiatives. The majority of this role will be usability testing and providing insightful feedback on that testing.
Duties and responsibilities
Liaise with the Senior UX Product Designer in the co-development and tracking of consumer-research needs and goals.
Responsible for spearheading the planning and conducting of consumer research at every stage in the product s lifecycle; from its conceptualization, prototype validations, all the way to usability tests on the final product (collaboration with product team).
Run all usability testing, both with customers and UserTesting.com s respondent database. This includes the ability to autonomously write test scripts and to conduct and analyze usability tests.
Create highlight reels and document major takeaways.
Ensure that the consumers needs are properly understood and seriously considered in all product developments, user flows, and feature additions.
Serve as an advocate for the product s value as well as the value of consumer research in addressing the product s needs.
Design quantitative and qualitative research approaches for application in all products. These approaches are, however, forwarded to the Senior UX Product Designer for further consideration, pending approval.
Tailors the proposed research approaches in such a way that they avail solutions for core issues that regularly come up in individual stages of the product s lifecycle.
The UX Researcher also performs other duties as required by the Sr. UX Product Designer and the product team.
The Physical Requirements for this position include being able to constantly operate a computer, frequently communicate within the company, occasionally communicate with customers or potential customers, occasionally remain in a stationary position, and occasionally transverse about inside the office.
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Business Association, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Information Science, or any other related field, or a combination of commensurate experience and education.
Display a genuine passion for product-centric innovation; an ability to work well independently as well as with a team; must have a keen and exceptional attention to detail; and more importantly, an ability to identify root recommendations inspired by the consumers needs and behaviors. Must have extensive experience in usability testing.
Information Security industry experience a HUGE plus.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with usability testing/general UX functions.
At least two years of work experience in statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, product usability moderating, experimental design, and test method selection.
In addition, a candidate for this position must have had proven successful experience in the integration of consumer research into a business s product design practice. Additionally, a suitable candidate will have experience in product usability testing tools.
Also, an experience related requirement, a UX Researcher candidate must display a strong comprehension of the strengths and limitations of the different research methods, inclusive of when and how to apply each in product/market/consumer analyses.
