NETE is seeking a highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented Desktop Engineer. The environment includes Windows, UNIX, Linux, and macOS which will require software, hardware and configuration management through an array of support systems. Customer incidents are recorded within ServiceNow serving as the problem management system. Candidates must be proactive, technically minded individuals with strong communication and customer service skills to provide Tier III support.

Complete Windows and macOS application packaging and deployment using large scale system management tools (i.e. SCCM, Absolute Manage,) to manage software deployments for a user base of approximately 2000 internal and external customers.
Group policy development and management experience.
Ability to coordinate with and other groups as needed to ensure timely deployments and mitigate potential issues.
Document and evaluate potential risks and issues and their workarounds or solutions.
Experience creating workaround communications and knowledge base documents.
Experience creating custom scripts for deployment and for remediation of issues. This should be done in conjunction with software deployments, or as standalone utilities. Knowledge of batch file scripting, Windows PowerShell Scripting, Visual Basic scripting and Bash/Shell Scripting.
Third tier support for desktop support/service desk on application installation, configuration, functionality issues. Ability to correctly read and interpret Windows system, application logs and third party application log files.
Ability to triage virus alerts and determine impact.
Must be able to document all processes, communicate with various interest/technical level groups by email and through documentation (in the knowledgebase, through regular documentation, and via SharePoint).
Ticketing systems ability to document Incidents, Problems, and Change Requests.
Location: Bethesda, MD
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Experience with McAfee ePO.
Experience implementing and managing Altiris, Symantec, BigFix, or Tivoli.
Experience with ServiceNow.
ITIL v3 certification.
