We are currently seeking a qualified Break / Fix Desktop Support Technician to join our client s team onsite in Woonsocket, RI. This opportunity is a 6-month contract with a possibility of renewal.

Scope of Activity and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot to determine and fix hardware and software problems with equipment
  • Diagnose, repair, and / or reinstall clients parts provided with software / equipment
  • Software resolution which consists of re-installation of a non-functioning software application at the authorization of the client
  • Diagnose, repair, and / or replace failed hardware components on equipment
  • Label all equipment to be replaced and sent back to the client
  • Close and manage all incidents and requests in the client program in real time, with a bi-directional update to the clients ITSM application ServiceNow
  • Provide MACD (moves, adds, changes, and disposal) services: -PC and laptops
  • Perform required installation of any equipment
  • Configure equipment in accordance with provided configuration specifications
  • Perform functional testing of such equipment and attached peripherals and attachments to verify that such equipment meets the applicable specification
  • Collect any displaced hardware (e.g. wrap cords) and software and, if applicable, move to a designated staging area within the applicable location for removal by client, upon completion of the MACD
  • Update and / or close incidents / requests which will update the ServiceNow program in real time

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of strong break / fix experience, as well as hardware and Windows 10 experience
  • Must have experience with imaging (using USNT)
  • Must have experience with building computers and troubleshooting hardware and software
  • Experience in an enterprise environment preferred
  • A+ or Microsoft certifications a plus
  • Experience with Service Now ticketing system is a plus
  • Must have excellent customer service / support skills
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be flexible and adapt quickly to new situations
  • Must be willing to learn
