Job Description


FriendFinder Networks is looking for a DevOps/Build Engineer. S/he will be working with system administrators, web development and network engineers in order to improve performance, minimize downtime and assist with the maintenance for critical applications and systems. S/he will have strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to automate system administration and development processes. S/he will document and contribute and maintain best practices documentation. Your contributions will ensure our systems will provide our customers the best possible user experience for everyone who visits our web sites 24 hours a day, every day of the year, all over the world.


  • Automate build and deployment process through the build system
  • Automating build, release/deployment, manual processes and workflows
  • Ensure that software builds happen predictably, consistently and reliably
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect scope, schedule, and quality
  • Support and improve our tools, infrastructure and processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality software to our production service
  • Advocate for improving our build and release tool chain
  • Support deployment activities of development and production releases including troubleshooting of release blockers such as infrastructure, configuration, and code
  • Assist development in troubleshooting system and software issues in all environments
  • Work closely with development teams to create processes and tools that provide immediate feedback on source changes
  • Update documentation


  • Bachelor s degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years strong operational experience in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Expert level development experience with scripting languages: Shell, Perl, or Python
  • Expert level experience and knowledge of web services
  • Must be comfortable with adult content
  • Must be at least 21 years old


  • Proficiency with MySQL and relational database design
  • Knowledge of common TCP networking concepts, e.g., routing, public/private networks, VPNs, NATs, load balancing, firewalls, etc.
  • Experience with secure system configuration and security principles.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with git and Jira


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Should have outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • A high degree of honesty and integrity
  • A team-player, positive attitude and flexible
