Location: Belmont, CA
Duration: 10 months
Understand how current systems and services in a local server room are used. This includes file servers, development tools like Jenkins and infrastructure services like LDAP, DHCP, and Vault.
Work with local DevOps and Software Engineering to plan all the tasks and mitigate the impact to ongoing software development.
Coordinate with IT to plan and migrate services to central IT services, like LDAP, and to IT managed VMs.
Plan for future growth.
Create infrastructure and tools to make everyone's jobs easier.
Consistently uses company concepts, policies and procedures, familiar with and follows standard practices.
Independent judgement and initiative is critical.
Document plans and final configurations including instruction for maintenance.
Shares knowledge and expertise with others.
Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and SaltStack Ability to setup infrastructure including HAProxy, VPCs, and physical networking in server room and office environment Experience security, credentials, and digital certifications Experience with Storage solutions such as NAS, SAN, Isilon Experience with virtualization such as VMWare and OpenStack Experience configuring DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SSO Highly skilled at troubleshooting infrastructure issues Ability to evaluate, plan, and implement reliable and scalable infrastructure Able to apply technical proficiency, engineering creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought Strong understanding of engineering principles and concepts
BS, MS, or PhD degree in computer science or directly related discipline.
Requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
