Work you'll do/Responsibilities
As a DevOps Solution Specialist, you will have multiple responsibilities, such as programming applications to be optimized in operations environment, testing and deploying for production. Some may involve some or all of the areas listed below:
•Developing templates or scripts to automate everyday developer or operations functions
•Monitor and maintain multiple (DevOps) environments based on client requirements
•Setting up or managing backups and patching across the environments
•Identifying new tools and processes to improve platform and automate processes
Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.
Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
•Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
•Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust Clearance
•3yrs+ experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting software in a Microsoft operations environment, previous experience in AWS environment a plus
•Previously worked as an operations engineer who has effectively communicated issues, resolved issues and work collaboratively with other development teams when required.
•Open to learning cutting edge development technologies such as Jenkins, Gitlab, AWS, DataStax, Apache Cassandra, Spark, SOLR and distributed computing concepts.
•Previous experience working in Linux environment
•Extensive experience installing and debugging software
•Prior Ops team experience
•Basic Understanding of GitLab, Jenkins, Cassandra, Spark, Distributed Computing
•Basic Understanding of AWS/Cloud Computing
•Experience interpreting application logs
•Experience performing system/application monitoring
•Home office location will be Mechanicsburg, PA, Lake Mary, FL (Orlando) or Gilbert, AZ
•Travel - up to 30% if required
•Certifications are a plus
