What you'll do:
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for infrastructure and security; promotes secure development and infrastructure guidelines and best practices.
  • Partner with developers, architects, and infrastructure engineers to assist with the design and architect of secure systems solutions.
  • Develop business relationships and integrates security activities with other departments to ensure successful implementation and support of security project.
  • Balance security risk and product advancement.
  • Conduct research on new security tools for new projects and ongoing initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and conduct proof-of-concepts for new technologies to ensure secure development of core architectural components and enable other engineering teams to find security flaws.
  • Perform penetration testing on internal and external applications.
  • Participate in scrum team meetings with developers and product owners to discuss project goals and statuses.
  • Participate in bi-weekly refinement, review, and retro meetings with functional team to set development goals, discuss development difficulties, and review completion of previous goals.
  • Review and test code for easily observable logic errors, bugs, and ensures best practices are adhered to; standardizes and optimizes code as necessary.
  • Remedy serious issues and investigates symptoms of issues to determine causality.
  • Provide emergency support to technical support staff as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing estimation, design, development, patching, updating, and sunsetting of products through use of Agile process.
What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master's degree, a plus.
  • Minimum two (2) years of software development experience.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure and security services
  • Advanced Amazon Web Services experience including load balancing.
  • Advanced proficiency with scripting and programming languages and tools such as Python, Ansible, and Shell.
  • Advanced proficiency of industry trends and developments around infrastructure and security automation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and concepts using relevant technologies and tools ( e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab).
  • Advanced programming/scripting proficiency as related to security automation and databases ( e.g., Mongo, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL).
  • Advanced proficiency with DevOps container/orchestration tools (Docker, ECS)
  • Advanced proficiency of Intrusion Prevention Systems, Firewalls, and associated best practices for securing internet facing databases as well as communication between the Internet, multiple DMZ's, and cloud based services.
