Job Description

ICW Group is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to help enable various business team to deliver business value through building out the next generation of CI/CD platform for ICW Group. The purpose of this job is to lead, design and implement automation and process improvements to successfully deliver solutions in support of ICW Group's business outcomes in a timely and efficient manner. This position will plan and execute system development and security strategies. This position exists to manage and automate complex systems and optimize work-processes for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides lifecycle support for all Enterprise DevSecOps tools and processes.

  • Architects, designs, implements, and manages virtualization environment including on-premise, cloud, and using containers.
  • Designs, develops, documents, analyzes, tests, integrates, debugs, and analyzes system architectures to provide scalable and reliable services composing of custom software and commercial solutions.
  • Leads and provides vision in the design of tools, processes, and changes to automate the lifecycle of new software releases, systems, and system upgrades.
  • Leads DevSecOps initiatives by providing automation, reporting, and training to team members and organization resources.
  • Performs technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the DevSecOps organization.
  • Assesses and monitors systems to address risks and vulnerabilities and maintain system configuration.
  • Integrates complex systems that facilitates continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment.

Collaborates in the design and implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise services.

  • Participates in Agile teams to plan, develop, and maintain systems and requirements for the DevSecOps pipeline.
  • Works closely with engineering teams to ensure we are considering security when architecting and building new features.
  • Works with development and QA teams to establish and maintain unit testing tools and QA automation tools.
  • Fosters and maintains good relationships with colleagues to meet expected customer service levels and stakeholder expectations.

Promotes DevSecOps mindset and best practices.

  • Provides coaching and mentoring to delivery teams on adopting and integrating DevSecOps within their programs.
  • Collaborates with different groups to identify gaps and bottlenecks to software delivery.
  • Leads DevSecOps-related communities of practice by ensuring that there are suitable topics for discussion and maintains a steady cadence of presenters.
  • Develops best practices and infrastructure for continuous integration and continuous deployment of software development pipelines and systems.
  • Develops documentation to enable rapid adoption and utilization of standard architectures. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but may mentor or guide other system engineers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required with a major or emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.  Minimum 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Linux, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional and/or Cloud Based Infrastructure certification preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Solid and proven knowledge of DevSecOps theory. Solid and proven experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, Powershell). Proven experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMWare, Nutanix, Docker, Kubernetes). Proven experience with Cloud technologies Paas, IaaS, aPaaS, (AWS). Solid and proven experience with creating and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines for automated deployments (GIT, SVN, Jenkins). Working knowledge of the Atlassian software development and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence). Knowledge of software development and systems development lifecycle practices, preferably in an agile development environment. Ability to demonstrate professional growth and formalized knowledge attainment history. Must be a strong logical and analytical thinker with attention to detail.  Solid working knowledge to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions. Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks. Ability to work comfortably under high-stress situations and exhibits poise and focus. Strong understanding of relevant business systems, operating systems, and servers. Possesses an understanding of how software behaves to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems, and continuously optimizes system performance. Excellent communication and organizational skills to be an effective influencer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

This job operates in a professional office environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Ability to work overtime and on nights and weekends, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.
