Title Direct Client Sr. Systems Release Engineer (Marimba, Data center Infrastructure, Windows/Linux admin, AD, Load Balancer, Splunk)
Location: 100% Remote (as per PST Hours; Seattle, WA)
Systems Engineer Role
Be a part of the Release Engineering team where your impact reaches ~10,500 stores across US and Canada. We are seeking someone with experience in supporting a system that supports large-scale deployments. You are accountable for ensuring high availability for our deployment application, Marimba, and the infrastructure within our data centers to support our nightly software distribution to ~75k endpoints. Having a healthy environment means keeping our software current by applying the latest patches and releases and fine-tuning our health-monitoring alerts as required. Along with providing operational support, you should also have a growth mindset and look for opportunities to automate and simplify any manual processes that are maintainable, scalable, and reliable.
As an Engineer, you will
- Communicate highly complex ideas and concepts to peers and non-technical customers
- Establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners
- Work with outside vendors to manage support issues
- Ensure application and infrastructure solutions are stable, secure, and compliant with company's standards and practices
- Provide high-availability operational support across the environment
- Support existing monitoring solutions to ensure continuous availability of critical systems
Years of Experience:
- 10+ years
Qualifications required:
- Administrative experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, Oracle database, Load Balancing
- Experience with instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services using tools such as Splunk, PowerBI, Jenkins, GIT, Datadog
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team systems and processes
- Participate in an on-call support rotation for team's production systems using PagerDuty and ServiceNow
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners
- Strong desire to document and track work using Confluence and Jira
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills using Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Slack
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 2+ years related experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
