Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Information Services is responsible for designing and maintaining systems that create, modify, store and distribute information both internally and externally, including researching, recommending, and implementing state-of-the-art software and technology solutions, developing strategic plans, and overseeing the installation, implementation, and continued development of systems.  The Director provides comprehensive training, a responsive internal helpdesk, as well as forums for end-user input. The Director will be hands-on and the first task is a massive ERP implementation. 

  • Works with Executive Team to develop a strategic system plan that supports the Company mission.
  • Correlates the strategic system plan into a tactical plan with a timeline for implementation of the necessary software, hardware, and training.   
  • Directs the design, development, and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet management and Company's information needs.  
  • Provides information processing, systems counseling and guidance to Company management and personnel.  
  • Plans and controls software and hardware acquisitions, and related facilities to ensure that they are consistent with the business plan of the Company.  
  • Establishes IS policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources.  
  • Maintains knowledge of developments in the areas of systems and hardware and incorporates new developments into the future systems of the Company.  
  • Develops compliant reports and systems from databases and ensure that appropriate security is in place for reporting on data.
  • Plans and implements effective strategies for improving the information in databases.
  • Creates and executes protocols to update records with external data.
  • Develops audit reports to ensure that data integration between systems is effective.
  • Performs analysis of data; develops programming for quality assurance; works with departments to develop specifications for additional systems.
  • Plans and controls IS departmental staffing, development, and organization.
  • Administers the department's expense budget.
  • Selects, develops, and motivates qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills.  

•     Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field such as Computer Information     Systems or Management Information Systems required. Master’s degree preferred.   

  • Minimum of four (4) years direct supervisory experience in information systems.
  • Experience working with application development, infrastructure and technology solution providers.
  • Experience with application configuration, setup, integration and support with a focus on building teams that deliver high quality, long lasting solutions.
  • Broad understanding of utility business and IS functions and processes along with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • 15+ years IS/IT experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility including Business Relationship Management, Solution Delivery, Leadership and Project Management.
