Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne FL.

Essential Functions:





* Development, integration, and documentation of laboratory systems, electrical cable designs and electrical assemblies for aerospace programs.

* Design, integrate, and troubleshoot electrical designs of a functional system including aircraft-type and commercial off the shelf (COTS) electro-mechanical components such as connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, etc.

* Create block diagrams, wiring diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and detailed assemblies such as cable assemblies utilizing AutoCAD.Electrical or other Electrical design tools.

* Ensures electrical designs meet electrical drawing standards.

* Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

* Familiar with SAE AS 50881 (Mil-5088), additional MIL specs, and proven commercial practices.

* Effectively communicate and portray design approach and functionality to other team members and lab users.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2+ years of electrical wiring design engineering and troubleshooting systems installation experience OR
  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
  • A current DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain program access prior to start





Preferred Qualifications:




* Master's Degree in Electrical/Systems/STEM Engineering

* Manufacturing/Liaison support experience is also desired to support installation of assemblies as well as testing of aircraft systems.

* AutCad Electrical Design Experience

* Previous experience designing aircraft products

* Experience in Lab Design

* Experience working on military aircraft

* Experience working on restricted or proprietary programs

* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
