Location: Merritt Island, FL
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Engineer - Mechanical III

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • OT Eligible. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Establish or coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment in the prescribed condition. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Design test control apparatus or equipment or develop procedures for testing products. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements. Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred. 10+ years of experience. Able to remain composed and focused while working in a dynamic environment. Ability to rapidly identify and resolve discrepancies/anomalies. Ability to provide detail technical recommendations to the operations and maintenance team to resolve discrepancies/anomalies. Able to perform detailed data reduction and analysis. Must be willing to travel to support launch and maintenance operations. Strong organizational and project management skills. Must be able to track, manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and jobs. Experience working in cross-discipline teams. Completion of design and analyses checks related to piping and tubing systems for major, mobile ground support equipment (GSE). Typical systems include high pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems. Perform detailed checks of existing analyses and communicate results to stakeholders for acceptance and/or design iteration. Perform duties in accordance with specifications and statements of work. Work with a team to ensure designs close on cost, schedule and technical requirements Work with team members to perform other analyses (detailed stress/FEA, fluid flow, etc.) of piping systems as required

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Mandatory Skills Extensive experience with performing analyses and interpreting results using Bentley AutoPIPE Knowledge of ASME B31.3 design criteria for piping systems Experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets Knowledge of solid modelling or plant modelling; CREO or similar solid modelling and or BIM tools Four year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline) Multiple years of experience in a technical engineering role, especially including design and analysis of piping/tubing systems Desired Skills 10+ years of relevant experience Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc) Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc) Experience working with P&IDs and fabrication/ installation drawings for piping systems, especially AutoCAD or AutoCAD P&ID Experience with structural hand calculations and analysis software tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc.) Ability to work remotely with some presence at Blue offices when required.
